Full explanation
A hero fold is letting go of a strong but beaten hand based on solid reads.
Explanation. The term contrasts with “hero call.” It means you fold despite holding a strong hand—because your opponent’s line or board action indicates they likely have the nuts. For example, folding trip Aces on river when opponent leads big on a scary board. Hero folds reflect disciplined play and psychological insight: knowing when even top holdings are beat.
