Explanation. Originally coined by Paul Magriel, the “M‑Ratio” divides your chip stack by the sum of blinds and antes per round. For example, a stack of 30 k chips with 2 k total blinds/antes yields M = 15. It indicates how many orbits you can play before being blinded out. Low M (e.g., below 10) pressures you into aggressive moves; high M allows deeper postflop play.
