End Strippers
End strippers are cards tapered along their ends, used for cheating.
The simple explanation
End strippers are playing cards whose ends have been trimmed so that some cards are slightly narrower. A cheat can feel the difference and pull out particular cards. The practice is a form of cheating.
A closer look
Tapered cards can let a cheat cut or find specific cards, such as aces. Casinos check decks and replace them often to prevent it. Players who find a deck with odd edges should tell the dealer or the floor.
A practical example
A cheat trims the ends of the aces in a deck so he can find them by feel. These are end strippers.
Full explanation

End strippers are cards that have been tapered along their ends for cheating. The change is small and can be felt by the cheat.
The altered cards let the cheat control where certain cards are in the deck.
Casinos use new decks, inspect cards and use sealed packs to prevent this kind of cheating.
If you suspect that a deck has been tampered with, call the floor.
