Re-buy

A re-buy is the amount of money that a player pays to add a fixed number of chips to his stack in a tournament. It is the same as a rebuy.

The simple explanation

In a rebuy tournament, you can buy more chips during a set period. You pay the re-buy and receive a fixed number of chips.

A closer look

Rebuys are allowed in the first part of the tournament, often until the break. After that, there may be an add-on. They increase the prize pool and favor players who are willing to gamble. Check the rules for when you may re-buy and how many times.

A practical example

A tournament allows re-buys for the first hour. A player pays for one and receives 10,000 chips.
