Nut Flush

A nut flush is the highest possible flush on the board. It usually includes the ace of the suit, and nobody can have a higher flush.

The simple explanation

If the board has three hearts and you hold the ace of hearts and another heart, you have the nut flush.

A closer look

The nut flush is strong but not unbeatable: a full house or a straight flush can beat it. When the board pairs, be careful. Having the nut flush lets you bet for value with confidence. A draw to the nut flush is the nut flush draw.

A practical example

You hold A♥ 9♥ and the board has Q♥ 7♥ 2♥. You have the nut flush.
