Full Tub

A full tub is another name for a full house: three of a kind with another pair. It is also called a full hand.

The simple explanation

If you have three cards of one rank and two of another, for example three queens and two sevens, you have a full tub.

A closer look

A full house is the third best hand in poker, after the straight flush and four of a kind. When two players have a full house, the player with the higher three of a kind wins. Slang names like full tub, full barn and boat all mean the same hand.

A practical example

A player holds Q♥ Q♦ Q♣ 7♠ 7♥: three queens and two sevens. He has a full tub.
