Turn
The turn is the fourth community card in Hold'em and Omaha, dealt face up after the flop betting round. It is also called fourth street. A round of betting follows it.
The simple explanation
After the flop betting, the dealer burns a card and turns one card face up. All players can use it. Then there is another round of betting, and the last card, the river, follows.
A closer look
The turn is often the most important street for decisions, because the bets get larger and only one card remains. Draws have lost a lot of their equity by then, and a missed draw may become a bluff. A bet on the turn after a bet on the flop is known as a second barrel or a turn continuation bet. Pot odds change, as a call on the turn leaves less to come.
A practical example
The flop is K♠ 7♦ 2♥ and the dealer turns 4♠. That card is the turn.
