Show Cards

Show cards are the exposed cards in stud, the cards that are dealt face up. Opponents can see them.

The simple explanation

In seven-card stud, some of your cards are face up. These are your show cards. They show the other players a part of your hand.

A closer look

Show cards give information about hands, and they affect the betting. A high card or a pair showing can be a sign of strength. Keep track of the show cards of the others to see which cards are live. The term is the same as up cards.

A practical example

A player has a pair of kings showing in his up cards. The others note that he may have trips.
