Up Card
An up card is a card that is dealt face up. In stud games, each player has several up cards that the others can see.
The simple explanation
In seven-card stud, you get some cards face down and some face up. The face-up cards are your up cards. They show a part of your hand.

The first up card is the door card. Up cards give information, so players keep track of them to see which cards are gone and which hands are possible.
