On The Come
On the come means that a player does not yet have a complete hand, such as when he holds a drawing hand. He is betting or calling on the come, in the hope of completing it.
The simple explanation
If you bet with four hearts, you bet on the come: you do not have the flush yet, but you may get it.
A closer look
Betting on the come is a semi-bluff: you can win if the opponent folds or if the draw hits. Calling on the come requires good pot odds or implied odds. The phrase is also used in craps, where a come bet is a bet on a number to come.
A practical example
A player holding A♥ 5♥ on a flop of 9♥ 7♥ 2♣ bets on the come.
