Full explanation

A dirty stack is a chip stack with mixed denominations, making it hard to assess size.

Explanation. A “dirty” stack mixes chips of different values (e.g. big and small in one pile) instead of neatly grouping each denomination. This makes it difficult for opponents and dealers to read your stack quickly. Sometimes it’s accidental; other times it’s used subtly to conceal real strength and mislead. Clean stack presentation—grouped by size and clearly visible—is considered proper etiquette and helps prevent confusion at the table.
