To lead is betting first into the previous aggressor.
Explanation. Leading a street means betting first despite someone having raised before—often out of position. This “lead” bet can take control, protect vulnerable hands, or extract value. Though similar to donk betting, lead bets may also be made in position to define the betting narrative on board texture.
