Donk Bet

A donk bet is leading out of position into the prior aggressor.

Full explanation

A donk bet is leading out of position into the prior aggressor.

Explanation. Called a “donk” because it originally implied foolish play—leading into the player who raised preflop from out‑of‑position. Instead of checking, you bet into the prior aggressor on the flop or later street. Though once frowned upon, many skilled players now use it selectively to protect draws or disrupt opponents’ plans. As a strategy, it’s about board texture, equity shifts, and opponent tendencies.
